About My Disease
Non-Hodgkin's T-cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma

Under Construction

This was sent to me and I thought it is something that Jim would like. It reminded me of him and many others throughout this whole experience.

Standing for what you believe in, regardless of the odds against you, means...COURAGE
Keeping a smile on your face, when inside you feel like dying, for the sake of supporting others, means...STRENGTH
Stopping at nothing, and doing what's in your heart, you know is right, means...DETERMINATION
Doing more than is expected, to make another's life a little more bearable, without uttering a single complaint, means...COMPASSION
Helping a friend in need, no matter the time or effort, to the best of your ability, means...LOYALTY
Giving more than you have, and expecting nothing, but nothing in return, means...SELFLESSNESS
Holding your head up high, and being the best you know you can be, when life seems to fall apart at your feet, facing each difficulty with the confidence, that time will bring you better tomorrows, and never giving up, means...CONFIDENCE

Updates on Day To Day Happenings
May 2002...The last three weeks have been very hectic. There has been much uncertainty with Jim's condition. Doctors have run numerous tests that have shown some new symptoms, with nothing being a definite sign for the Lymphoma. Jim's doctors agreed to procede as if the Lymphoma has returned. The treatment for Lymphoma is radiation, and further down the road, Bone Marrow Transplant.

Jim began the first of numerous radiation treatments on May 24th.

Tuesday May 28th, one of Jim's doctors talks to a world-reknowned doctor at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He thinks Jim's symptoms are from a reaction to the chemotherapy, rather than the Lymphoma, so he wants to see Jim right away.

On May 29th, Jim, Jim(Jim's dad), Don(Debbie's dad), and Kevin(Debbie's brother) left Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital for Houston, Texas. Jim felt sick upon arriving at the airport in Houston, and made the decision to go right to the hospital. After being seen by the attending physicians, getting medication, and the relief of being there, he gradually improved throughout the night.

Thursday May 30th, Jim gets admitted to a room at M.D. Anderson. The facility, doctors, and nurses are outstanding. He will be going through extensive evaluation and testing today and tomorrow.

Fri. May 31st, Jim is doing alright, still has pain in his head and shoulders. Had fluid taken from his head and spine for testing, we're still waiting on the results. Later on tonight he will have an MRI taken of his shoulder. After his tests Jim and the men will enjoy the Red Wings game. GO WINGS !

On Mon. June 3rd, Jim will have a nerve test on the areas he's been having problems, along with an MRI of his head.
Hopefully, all will go well and we will have the doctors recommendation on Jim, and he will be back home on Tues. June 4th.

If any new information comes through this weekend, it will be updated.

Jim, Don, and Kevin are taking very good care of Jim. The fact that they are there is a big relief to all of us who love him back home. Thanks Guys!

Mon. June 3rd, We apologize for the late update. Jim had a good weekend, there were no results from the tests he underwent on Fri, and although he still had the head, neck, and shoulder pain, he was able to get outside and enjoy some of the Houston weather. He went through more tests today and hopefully we will here something on Tues.

Tues. June 4th, We received some information on Jim. Two of his doctors are optimistic that the lymphoma isn't back and it's the effects from the chemotherapy Jim received. Although we are still waiting on some important test results, which we should get tomorrow, everyone is optimisitc that they will be good. Most likely, all four of the guys will be back home on Wed. June 5th.
The prayers from everyone have been a great help during this hard time. To everyone, THANK YOU so much for believing in the power of prayer, and for the Love you have shown to Jim and his family.

Wed. June 5th and future days...please go to the "What's New Page".
